The B999 Tarves road will be closed for three days, between July 6 and 9, to allow for work to be undertaken on the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route.
The road will be closed between Advocates Row and Newton of Mundurno.
The council has suggested a possible alternative for drivers who face disruption.
Motorists are asked to use the B977 Dyce to Balmedie road, and the A90 Ellon road.
A section of the new bypass, between the Parkhill and Blackdog junctions, opened to the public yesterday.
Transport Scotland claims the bypass will reduce congestion by 30% when it is fully opened.
The project has already faced delays in recent months due to severe weather during the winter and the folding of contractor Carillion.
