An Aberdeen club is drumming up support to collect as many tokens as possible leading up to a grand cash giveaway.
Grampian Flyers is one of the many groups hoping to score a slam dunk by getting a share of £15,000 in this year’s CommunitEE Chest.
Mhairi Guthrie, head coach for the club, said: “We are the only basketball league in the north-east.
“The teams are really excited to get some funds and hopefully it will be going towards new kits. We have not had any for a number of years and we have 12 squads.
“So we need to get enough vests, straps and home and away kits. Since we are a charity, anything and everything helps.”

The group attracts a range of ages – from children as young as four to adults – and it recently won Club of the Year at the Aberdeen Sports Awards.
She added: “We are all absolutely over the moon with the win.
“It is great for basketball to be recognised and a testament to everyone at the club.”
In an effort to collect tokens, the club has taken to social media to appeal to friends.
To be in with a chance of landing a share of the £15,000 prize money, all organisations registered to take part must collect more than 100 tokens from the Evening Express.
Tokens can be collected daily with double tokens all this week.
