An Aberdeen bar which shut its doors on Saturday night is to undergo a £250,000 transformation and reopen under a new name next month.
Campus, on Windmill Brae in the city centre, hosted revellers for the final time on Saturday night, and has now closed its doors as work begins behind the scenes.
And it has now been announced the nightspot will reopen as early as August 11, after the six-figure rebranding, as Steinhaus.
Campus’ marketing manager Sammy Dey said Campus had still been performing well, but was no longer the unique attraction it once was.
She said: “It’s just time for a change. All good things have to come to an end.
“With Campus there’s not really a unique selling point for it anymore. It’s been around for a while.”
While the details of the new bar are being kept largely under wraps, it’s likely to have a very different feel and be styled around the kind of bars you would find in Berlin, Munich, Prague and Brussels.
Sammy said: “Although we’re reopening, we don’t want anyone thinking it will be anything like what Campus is.
“It’s completely new to Aberdeen.
“We’re spending £250,000 on it. It’s definitely not a sports bar.
“It’s not going to look anything at all like what you see today.
“We’ve put an unbelievable amount of time and effort into this.
“The products on offer will be completely different.”
Steinhaus will offer an extensive variety of drinks.
Sammy said: “It’s going to be a beer bar, however, it’s going to have a full cocktail list. There’s something for everybody really.
“There’s going to be around about 30 different beers, ales and ciders as well.
“There’s one specific product that we’re doing that no one else in Aberdeen is doing.
“It’s a feature of the bar as well. It’s something that’s extremely unique, to Aberdeen anyway.”
