A man has been handed a £300 fine after admitting driving carelessly on a North-east road.
Christopher Golding, 23, appeared at Aberdeen Sheriff Court where he admitted driving without due care or attention on the A96 Aberdeen to Inverurie road near Gauchhill, Kintore, on February 3.
Golding drove at excessive speed for the conditions as well as overtaking a number of vehicles on the inside lane.
The court heard that Golding was seen travelling north by police carrying out speed checks, he was seen to undertake vehicles and the speed he was driving at was detected at 98mph.
Defence agent Peter Shepherd said his client at the time had been working in the oil industry and had a “rather expensive car”. He added that he has since been paid off.
Mr Shepherd added: “He has to accept his driving that day was wholly unacceptable.”
Golding, whose address was given in court papers as Cairn Road, Bieldside, Aberdeen, was handed six points on top of his fine.
