Plans for a new £12 million primary school have taken a step forward.
Aberdeenshire Council has outlined a proposal for a facility that will replace Kinellar Primary School in Blackburn.
The local authority’s policy and resource committee has approved the £12,193,150 cost of the demolition of the building and construction of the new school.
The school will be built on the site of the existing facility and will be able to accommodate 450 pupils. The plans also include a 40 pupil nursery, multi-use games area, community park and additional car parking.
Pupils will be transferred to the new Midmill School in Kintore during construction. The school was targeted by firebugs on New Years Day, destroying the nursery and the P1 classroom.
