Work is nearing completion on a £1.1 million refurbishment of a hospital’s midwifery unit.
In January 2017, refurbishment works began at Peterhead Community Hospital, including a full upgrade to the community midwife unit.
The work was intended to completely refit the facility and make way for dedicated scanning and day assessment facilities.
NHS Grampian has confirmed the project at the unit is now nearly completion.
The work includes the creation of a new reception area with adjacent birthing rooms.
Both of the birthing suites have been installed with state of the art birthing pools with associated mood lighting allowing women a number of choices for their labour.
