Winning Consumers’ Family Retailer of the Year at the Evening Express Retailer Awards two years in a row had a positive impact on Haigs.
Owner Julie Haig said: “It was lovely to be recognised for the hard work and commitment we all put in to creating our products for customers.
“It gave our entire team a boost, as they all work very hard, day in day out, creating the quality products we sell.”
Haigs’ business has grown since winning the accolade. The butcher’s shop has recently launched its mobile shop and customers are now able to check when Haigs will be in their area.
Once they know this, they can order the shop’s quality products online, which will then be prepared and delivered to a designated collection point.
Julie said their new mobile shop had been heartily welcomed in the community.
She said: “It has been incredibly hard work but worthwhile, as we are bringing our products out to our customers.”
Haigs strives for excellent customer service on a daily basis.
Julie said: “Every customer who enters our store receives a friendly welcome. We are all on hand to offer advice with regards to our products.
“We have such a broad range of customers and every single person is very well looked after.”
Julie is very grateful for the “incredible support they (customers) give our local family business”.
The owner’s favourite product in the store right now is their Peking chicken because she thinks it is “absolutely delicious”.
She added: “Thankfully the team are always coming up with new flavours to try so it keeps things very interesting.”
The products are on sale daily at Haigs Food Hall on Schoolhill.
