Offers over £365,000: Unique features in lovely home in Banchory

A great eye for detail has seen Craig Reid turn his Banchory home into something really special.

Pick out any room and you will find unique and custom-made features which turn the house into a real showpiece.

Whether it’s the funky art wall in his uber stylish and contemporary kitchen to the wall panels he had handmade in Thailand for his super funky and luxurious bathroom.

Owner’s creative talents produce stylish results

Craig has spent the past 14 years using his creative skills to perfect this stunning home.

Craig, 54, who is a maintenance manager with Apache North Sea, said: “This house has definitely been full of eureka moments for me.

“I’ve had plenty of time over the years to create prototypes for the likes of the bannister and skirtings.

”I sensed it had huge potential, and I was certain I could do something with it.”

Such a perfectionist is Craig, he instructed the joiner to remove the new kitchen units, which had only just been installed, after he had a flash of inspiration.

“The units are now suspended which gives the illusion they are floating,” he said.

The living room is Craig’s favourite zone, and where he likes to spend most of his time thanks to clever lighting which creates a lovely ambience in the room.

The accommodation, which has views over a tennis court, golf course, and nestles beneath Scolty Hill, is extremely spacious. It even offers a huge office/games room, a versatile space which could offer potential for business use.

Craig is now turning his creative talents to a new project – a new home he is having built on the outskirts of Banchory, along with his partner Dawn Murdoch, 45, an area administrator with Scottish SPCA.

“I have poured my heart into this property, and am very proud of it,” he said.

“It’s been a great home to me, but I look forward to Dawn and I moving in to our new home together.”
