When Angela and Gordon Stewart first walked through the door of 20 Wilson Road, they instantly knew it was the house for them.
After months of searching, the pair were beginning to wonder if they would ever find the home they were looking for, but now as they look back on their journey 15 years later, they are happy they held out for a home which suited them.
“It felt like as soon as we stepped in the door we knew it was right,” said Angela, 54.
Although Angela and Gordon, 58, loved the house from their first visit, it hasn’t stopped them making some considerable changes over the years, and their first project was extending the kitchen.
“It’s a room which has really worked well for us and is lovely and bright.
“It was important to have a nice big kitchen as we have three children and we found that everyone just congregates there.”
The five-bedroom property has been fabulously modernised throughout and offers plenty of room for a growing family.
Downstairs a spacious lounge offers ample space to put your feet up, while a dining room is an ideal place to entertain guests, with patio doors leading out onto a private deck.
It’s the perfect place for soaking up the sun, but for Angela the best thing about Number 20 is the peace and quiet.
“It feels like you’re right in the country out here but in reality you’re just a few minutes’ walk from the centre of Banchory,” she said.
