Anne Charles can wholeheartedly confirm that the neighbours at Rosehall Farm are great.
Anne, who has built an eco-friendly home in the neighbouring land, has lived at the charming farmhouse for the past 21 years.
Anne, 54, who owns Rosehall Pet Cemetery, said: “I originally moved here to house my horses.
“There is an old disused railway line close by, which has been a great place for hacking the horses and walking the dog.“
When Anne first moved into the property it had to undergo a complete transformation.
“There was no heating to speak of,” carried on Anne.
“It has been a labour of love over the years and it has undergone a full makeover and been rewired.”
The house has been well tended by Anne and she has refurbished her home to remain in line with its character.
Original floorboards on the ground floor add charm to the property, as do the exposed brick walls.
Both the multi-fuel stoves and the traditional farmhouse kitchen – Anne’s favourite room – have also been thoughtfully designed to suit her needs.
“The Rayburn cooker is always on and so I like to spend most of my time cuddled up on the sofa with my dog and cat there.”
The accommodation at the farmhouse includes a hall, living room, dining room, dining kitchen, utility room, two bathrooms and four bedrooms.
The farmhouse has a drystone wall at the front and there is a quaint vegetable patch in the rear garden where an abundance of apples and raspberries are to be found, along with a great patio area.
Anne’s move to a new eco-friendly home will take her closer to her eco-friendly pet cemetery, which nestles in the nearby woods.
“I have plenty of wonderful memories, but now the time is right for me to downsize and move on.”
