When Fraser and Lois Leckie decided to move to Tarves, they were so resolute in their decision that they opted to buy off plan.
Number three Bain’s Park did not disappoint and within a year of moving in to the new build, the couple became proud parents to Naomi who is now four.
They’ve recently added to the family with nine-month-old Isla and are now on the hunt for a bigger property.
Their four bedroom family home is still in immaculate condition and the Leckies want to stay in Tarves having fallen in love with the community.
Fraser, 48, who works in logistics, regularly commutes between Aberdeen and Peterhead.
“It’s been ideal in that respect, the location has suited us well,” said Lois, 30, who is a stay-at-home mum.
She will miss the spacious open plan dining kitchen where the family tends to congregate.
It is south-westerly facing, meaning this room gets the sun throughout the day.
“There’s always someone needing fed, so everyone tends to end up in there,” said Lois.
“The fact that this was a new build really appealed to us because we didn’t want to have to do renovations.
“We moved in and got our ginger cat, Diego, who we named after the tiger in Ice age.
“Then Naomi came along and now we have Isla, it’s been our first family home.”
There is also an elegant lounge which is perfect for cosy evenings in.
A handy utility room and downstairs toilet complete the accommodation on the ground floor.
All four bedrooms can be found upstairs, including the en-suite master bedroom.
Outside there is a well-maintained rear garden, ideal for the children to play in.
It is laid to lawn but offers scope for those who love gardening.
The driveway to the front allows for three cars to park.
“Although we aren’t from Tarves, we’re so glad that we decided to move here,” said Lois.
“Our cul-de-sac is very family orientated. There’s a lovely community here, so we won’t be going far.”
