The perfect house for work and play, it’s fair to say Sandra and Ronald Garvoch’s property in Peterhead is not your average family home.
The four-bedroom detached house has not only been the ideal place to raise children but also to run a business, with its very own hair salon on the premises.
Hairdresser Sandra and her husband Ronald, an offshore worker, moved into 9 Morven Crescent nearly two years ago.
The couple wanted a new project to get their teeth into but didn’t want to stray too far from their favourite area of Peterhead.
“Before we moved into the property, we actually stayed in Hope Street just down the road,” says Sandra, 45.
“We knew Number 9 was the one for us as we realised there was so much we could do with the space.”
Teenagers Chorus, 16, and Laural, 14, have certainly enjoyed having their own rooms.
The living room is also bright and spacious, with plenty of room for family get-togethers.
“The lounge is my favourite room in the house,” Sandra said.
“It’s the ideal place to relax and has a great view, you can even see the nearby village of St Fergus.”
Recently refurbished, the kitchen is stylish and bright, while the additional family room offers yet more room for hosting gatherings.
The garage is set up as a hair salon but could be easily converted to suit any business, while the log cabin is also suitable for use as an office space.
With downsizing in mind, the Garvochs are in search of a slightly smaller home but will not be moving far.
“If we found a smaller property right next door that would be ideal,” says Sandra. “I’ve always lived in Peterhead and love the community, I can’t imagine leaving the place now.”
