When it comes to any major life decisions, they say when you know, you just know, and for Leanne McDonald that was certainly the case when it came to buying a house.
Number 10 Golfview Crescent in Kemnay was the very first house she viewed after beginning her hunt for a new home six years ago.
Its large rooms and big garden were perfect for her growing daughters while the area was exactly where she wanted to live.
“I grew up in Kemnay,” said the 34-year-old.
“I feel at home here and knew this is where I wanted to live. The space was what really attracted me to this house but it also has a lovely homely feeling.
“I knew as soon as I looked at it that this was the house for us.”
The property has proved to be the perfect place for Leanne, a facilities manager, to raise her three daughters, Amy, 10, Ellie, 9, and two-year-old Katie.
The main lounge is bright and airy, with a stylish feature wall and modern wood flooring which continues throughout the ground floor. However it’s the bright kitchen diner where Leanne spends most of her time.
“I had a new kitchen put in not long ago,” she said. “It’s a great space for cooking but is also really social at the same time. Day-to-day it’s a good family room and the kids are always in here, but when guests are round it’s perfect to have a room big enough for everyone.
“My favourite room in the house is probably the sun lounge though. It’s great for just relaxing with my girls and watching TV.”
Located just off the kitchen the sun lounge is certainly a lovely space with windows overlooking the garden.
There is also a separate dining room for more formal get-togethers.
But it’s not just the house that Leanne has loved over the years, as the community of Kemnay has been ideal for her young family.
“It’s different from when I grew up here of course,” she said. “There is so much more for children to do these days and kids clubs of any kind are all on the doorstep.
“I’m sad to leave the house but we won’t be going far. I’ve got my eye on somewhere else in Kemnay and can’t imagine leaving here now.”
