A home may only be bricks and mortar to some but they also happen to hold strong sentiments for people – especially for those who have raised families in one.
Which is exactly the case with Gillian Hadden, 43. Gillian has lived in this great house in Heathryfold for the past 17 years and her eldest son Joshua, 18, was only a babe in arms when they moved in, with Kieran, 15, arriving a few years later .
Gillian, who owns Big Baps burger van in Tullos, said: “The house looked nothing like it did back then and has been completely modernised throughout.
“I also had my second son, Kieran, a few years after moving in, so this house is one filled with very happy memories, including watching my boys take their first steps.”
Between them, Gillian and her partner Graham Ledingham, 56, who works as a support worker, have given much thought and care to the layout and design of their spacious home – both inside and out – with injections of colour throughout. The accommodation comprises a lounge/dining area, fully-fitted kitchen, master bedroom, two further bedrooms and a family bathroom.
Both the kitchen and bathroom were recently installed.
Laminated flooring is laid mainly throughout the property.
So which rooms are favourites?
“Lots of sunlight floods through the lounge, but the kitchen is probably my favourite room,” said Gillian.
“I love to cook, and both the boys also enjoy cooking with me, Kieran especially.
“They like Thai food so there is always something nice on for tea.”
With Gillian’s business being located on the opposite side of town, Gillian and Graham are looking to move closer to her workplace to save time on the commute.
“We are really enjoying looking at other properties, and although we each will be sad to leave here, there is also a feeling of excitement for the next chapter of our lives”, added Gillian.
