One thing’s for sure about Gavin Loudfoot… his prospects are certainly on the up.
The young professional is about to set sail across the Atlantic ocean to move to Boston to attend a business school and to pursue his passion for rowing.
Gavin, 29, who hails from Glasgow, first moved to Aberdeen in 2014 to take up his post as a private equity associate with Simmons.
He said: “When I first moved to Aberdeen I was renting a flat five doors down from here with a friend.
“I just loved this street because it is quite quirky in that it is a one-way street so it is very quiet.
“When this property came up for sale I jumped at the chance to buy it.”
Keen rower Gavin has loved being so close to the River Dee which is only a stone’s throw from his flat.
He has also enjoyed walking everywhere. Two of his favourite walks have been around Duthie Park and Deeside Railway Line – both of which are only a short distance from his home.
“The location has been brilliant,” he said.
“It’s only minutes from the city centre, but you would never know it. Last year I ended up selling my car because I just never needed to drive anywhere.
“I am leaving this place under duress as I have really loved living here.”
Budding musician Gavin’s granite, ground-floor flat comprises a hallway, lounge, double bedroom, breakfasting kitchen and bathroom.
It is in excellent condition and ready to move into with the minimum of fuss.
Outside, there is a low maintenance garden at front which is laid with granite chips. The rear garden is fully enclosed and well maintained. It is mainly laid to lawn with borders and shrubbery.
As he carefully packs away his Beatles vinyl collection he inherited from his dad and packs up his guitar, his exit will be somewhat bittersweet.
