When the James family moved into 5 Presly Avenue it might not have been what they set out looking for, but it certainly won them over.
The four-bedroom detached property has been the perfect place for Ian and Leah to raise their three children, and the family have spent more than three years making Number 5 their own.
“We wanted a period property in the country but nothing we viewed seemed right,” said Leah, 36.
“Number 5 was absolutely brand new and not something we had considered before.
“But I was pregnant with my daughter Isla so our priorities sort of changed and we fell in love with the finished property.”
It’s easy to see why, as the property has a bright and spacious feel with room for entertaining as well as daily family life.
Twins Olivia and Megan, 17, and three-year old Isla each have their own rooms.
Stay-at-home mum Leah’s favourite place is the versatile kitchen diner, which comes with a fabulous bright feature wall. For relaxing the lounge is spacious with access to the garden through French doors.
The dining room is perfect for more formal entertaining.
But when the family aren’t enjoying meals together they can usually be found in the garden.
“We are quite an outdoorsy family,” said Leah.
“We are so close to Haddo House here which we absolutely love and there are so many other nice walks.”
The community feel will be missed, but a new challenge awaits the family as Ian, 37, has been offered a new position in England.
