
Rural life is calling for the Petries, who are leaving behind their home in the city’s North Donside Road after five years.
Euan and Amanda have decided to move on from their two-bedroom pad, which has been the ideal space for entertaining friends
Euan, 30, who is a senior systems engineer, said that moving from their previously small flat into spacious number seven was a big upgrade. As a result, the pair have become the perfect hosts.
Both Euan and Amanda, 28, an NHS physiotherapist, grew up in the countryside and have decided to up sticks once again. That’s not to say they won’t miss their Bridge of Don home.
“Although the house was pretty much ready to move into when we bought it, we have definitely enjoyed doing a bit of decorating and DIY,” said Euan.
“Though it’s mostly Amanda who picks out the colour schemes and I do the hard work!”
The property is in immaculate condition with a lovely lounge and good-sized dining kitchen. Both bedrooms are spacious and bright.
“One of my favourite things about this house is the space,” said Euan.
“Oh and the storage. There is a huge cupboard under the stairs that I’ve completely filled with CDs and DVDs, so they’ll need a home in our new place for sure!”
The couple have also enjoyed the home’s proximity to the coast.
“The beach at Bridge of Don is so much quieter than the main Aberdeen beach, and it takes no time to head out to the dunes at Balmedie which is fantastic for walks,” said Euan.
But when he isn’t out exploring the local area, Euan enjoys a cold beverage in the fully-enclosed rear garden which has a decent-sized lawn and decking area.
“The back patio is ideal for chilling with friends and a few beers on a sunny afternoon, it’s a real sun trap and we’ve enjoyed a barbecue or two there over the years,” he said.
