When the Beattie family spied 115 Craigton Road, they saw past its dire need for renovation and realised its potential.
Now almost unrecognisable from its former state, it boasts an immaculate modern interior.
It has been an incredibly happy three years for Yvonne, 35, who is a romance novelist, and Richard, 37, who is head of finance for Ping Petroleum.
House transformed into modern property
And they clearly don’t shy away from a challenge, for Yvonne was heavily pregnant when the couple first came across the property before making the decision to move from Copenhagen.
“Richard kept looking at the house online but it was only when we came to view it that we realised how much work was needed,” said Yvonne.
“Ashley was eight weeks old when we took the plunge and bought the house, she’s now four while Joshua is seven. We just knew this could be a wonderful family home and we loved the location.”
Renovations included new flooring, skirting boards, and doors, not to mention new bathrooms but the hard work has certainly paid off.
“We spend most of our time in the family room because it’s right next to the kitchen, so I can keep an eye on the kids whilst cooking,” said Yvonne.
However, the family are now ready for a new challenge.
“It has been a brilliant house and we can get to the shops or the library within a few minutes,” said Yvonne. “We’re so pleased we stuck to the vision, it’s time for another family to take over.”
