Emma Morrison instantly fell in love with her apartment in the city centre and it is easy to see why.
It has many attractive features to capture anyone’s attention … from traditional aspects such as cornicing and high ceilings, right down to the space and storage it has to offer.
Emma, 32, a chemical engineer with Genesis Oil and Gas, said: “I had looked at quite a few properties before this one, but it always seemed the kitchens were too small or there was no storage to be had.
“When I walked in here I knew instantly it was the one. I loved the size of both the living room and kitchen and the feature fireplace was also a big draw for me.”
The living room retains its original floorboards and an attractive bay window allows plenty of light to flood through the room.
It also happens to give a great view over Holburn Street and is the perfect spot to sit and watch the world go by, especially when the fire is roaring on a winter’s night.
Emma, who moved in to the first-floor apartment in the spring of 2013, said: “I have been so very happy living here and I have enjoyed having my friends around, sitting at the kitchen table, while I prepare a meal. It’s a sociable room.”
Since moving in, Emma has fallen head over heels in love again … only this time with lawyer James Muir, 34, who she recently got engaged too.
The professional couple are ready to take the next step on the property ladder and they are excited to be setting up their first home together.
“I’ve really loved my time here. It has been a great first home,” she added.
Emma and James hope to remain in the city centre, but there is one requirement the new home will have to have.
“An open fire,” said Emma. “Once you’ve had one, there is no going back.”
