It can be slim pickings for a vegetarian like me when it comes to eating out – although it’s slowly improving.
So you can imagine my delight when a glossy menu was slipped through my letterbox and it listed Quorn tikka masala.
The veggie masala did not disappoint – so much so I’m salivating just writing about the thick, red, creamy sauce and fall-apart-in-my-mouth Quorn.
A common perception can be that Quorn is rubbery in texture – I can confirm it’s most definitely not at Mastrick Tandoori.
It wasn’t too spicy and when I scooped it up with a mouthful of sweet coconut pilau rice … I’m salivating again.
My friend had no complaints about the tender lamb achari and commented on how the spicy, tasty sauce had a prominent pickle flavour.
Accompanied by sweet peshwari naan and crunchy popadoms, our meal was a fine treat.
