A long-established Aberdeen takeaway is celebrating not just one, but two new awards.
Eastern Eye was recently named the Overall Takeaway in Aberdeen City and Shire at the Aberdeen and Highlands Curry Awards. And at the Scottish Curry Awards, the takeaway scooped the prize for Home Delivery of the Year North Scotland.
Owner of Salek Miah said: “It’s not easy to win in the north, there’s big competition and there’s a lot of big curry houses among us to dine in so we feel great.
“These awards are even more special to us, because they are customer nominated and we would like to thank our loyal customers for their continued support for more than 30 years.”
He added: “Our team work very hard to create dishes that are good quality and quantity – we don’t cut corners – and it’s great to get recognition for the hard work that’s done in the kitchen. I would like to thank the team for putting in the hours and keeping our standards of cuisine so high.”
Established in 1986, Eastern Eye is a family-run business that prides itself on serving Aberdeen fantastic dishes created with the finest fresh local ingredients and herbs and spices from around the world.
The team of chefs can cater for a number of dietary requirements, including gluten-free and vegan.
They have previously won the Best Indian Takeaway in Aberdeen City at the Aberdeen’s Best Curry Awards 2016/17, the Best Takeaway North of Scotland at the Scottish Curry Awards in 2016 and the Best Takeaway in Aberdeen at the 2014 Aberdeen’s Best Curry Awards.
Salek Miah said: “The secret to our success is hard work – it’s why we are the oldest Indian takeaway in Aberdeen. We create restaurant quality food to take away.”
Open seven days a week from 4.30pm until 11pm, Eastern Eye has free on-site parking and offers a home delivery service to the Aberdeen area.
