Review: Contour Cafe, The Green, Aberdeen

When it comes to cool places to grab some grub I usually bow to the superior knowledge of my cool offspring.

So when the loon suggested Contour as a good place for a catch-up, I was more than happy to tag along. Turns out the boy has good taste.

This minimalist place on The Green has a warm, but laidback vibe. It also has a huge range of sarnies, salads and soups to tempt its customers – many of them clearly regulars.

Looking to spice things up a bit, I decided on the Jubilee Chicken in a toasted panini (£5.90). It was like an Indian feast in a sandwich.

Tender coronation chicken vied with tasty onion bhaji on the spice front.

One of the two of them was fairly fiery. Salsa added zing and mozzarella a bit of depth.

The boy went for the Mona Lisa wrap (£6.50) and was rewarded with a feast of chicken, bacon and guacamole.

I think it must have been good because he scarfed the lot.

This is a cracking place to fill your face and while away some time.
