Blue skies, the shimmering sea and a glimpse of the sun – there surely can’t be a better setting for a bite to eat after work.
So I had high hopes for the Sand Dollar on Aberdeen’s beachfront.
My mum and I were struck by how quiet the restaurant area at the beach seemed.
Still, the Sand Dollar looked welcoming and we were pleased to be seated quickly.
I’ve visited the cafe before and struggled to get a seat so this was a nice change.
Wednesday is burger night so my mum opted for a classic burger with a side of sweet potato fries. She said the meat was juicy and the fries were just crispy enough.
I picked one of the specials – an omelette with smoked haddock, cream and parmesan.
It was rich but fluffy and light, too.
We decided to share a warm gluten free brownie for a sweet treat with our coffee.
We’re already planning our next visit.
