Aberdeen’s Ragamuffins to bring orphan Annie story to life

More than 50 children from Aberdeen’s very own Ragamuffins musical theatre group will perform their latest show, Annie, next week.

Arriving at ACT Aberdeen from Wednesday night at 7pm, the show about orphan Annie will see children aged between seven and 13 sing and dance the night away.

Bringing the show to life, production team member Shona Smith is excited to see the kids in action.

She said: “As soon as the kids get in front of the audience it all comes together. It’s great to see them have so much fun.”

The musical is filled with well-known songs including It’s A Hard Knock Life, Little Girls and Tomorrow.

Shona said: “There’s lots of big chorus numbers including the favourites. In the stage show version there’s a number called NYC which is a company number and it’s filled with general musical theatre styles, which the kids really love.

“The level of singing from some of the kids is incredible.”

And the popular, much-loved tale makes a great family show.

Shona said: “Expect lots of fun, outstanding talent and a great heart-warming family show for all.”
