Space and lots of it was what attracted Jenni McBeath and her husband Chris Bugg to their dream home.
They had previously lived in Chris’ small one-bedroom flat, so the much larger three-bedroom apartment in Dee Village was a perfect fit for them.
Jenni, 31, a petroleum engineer for Chevron, said: “When we saw the flat we immediately fell in love with it, because of the space and its location.
“It’s unusual for a new-build to have so much space,” added the mum, who is currently on maternity leave with 10-month-old son Hugo.
Situated in the city centre, the flat has now been the couple’s home for two years.
Jenni and Chris, 32, a geologist for Maersk, met seven years ago and moved into the modern property in 2015 after spending a year in Copenhagen for work.
Jenni said: “I loved living in Denmark.
“We rented the flat out when we were away and moved in on our return.”
Putting their stamp on the property, the duo made cosmetic changes to add character and style.
Jenni said: “We added the wallpaper in the master bedroom and lounge, and we painted the kitchen wall.
“We also added accessories and styled it to both of our tastes.”
Boasting three double bedrooms with built-in wardrobes, a large kitchen, a big lounge and a cupboard in which to hide appliances, the property is a storage haven.
Jenni said: “It was the size of the property and the storage areas that sold it to us. The additional cupboard keeps everything hidden, its great.”
Enjoying the modern space, Jenni spends most of her time in the lounge and master bedroom.
She said: “The lounge has a stunning view of the courtyard and attracts the afternoon sun. The master bedroom is huge and has an additional area which is similar to a walk-in wardrobe. There’s an en-suite bathroom too.”
The property also has an exclusive gym for the development’s residents, a concierge service and a parking spot in the gated car park.
Jenni said: “The on-site gym is great and is a reasonable size too. It always seems busy.”
The couple enjoy spending time outdoors and have plans to move to Stonehaven where their son Hugo will have his own garden to play in all year round.
