Kind-hearted Brian Ross is in the pink after raising more than £1,000 for Breast Cancer Care.
Brian, a shuttle bus driver at Hampton by Hilton Aberdeen Airport, did not hesitate to turn to peroxide and transform his salt and pepper locks and goatee beard to a very vibrant shade of pink for the charity.
Brian, 42, said: “I first dyed my hair pink seven years ago and raised over £1,000 then for Breast Cancer Care.
“To raise the same again is just brilliant.
“Breast cancer touches everyone and we all know someone who has been affected, so for me putting myself out there now and again is a good thing.”
Brian chose to raise money for the charity after his grandmother Rina Zammit was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2011.
“My grandmother was my inspiration,” added Brian.
“She passed away two years later, but before she did I was able to visit her in Australia and spend precious time with her.”
As the month of October approached, general manager at the hotel, Sandra Brooks, decided the hotel would do their bit to support the charity… and Brian did not hesitate to pitch in.
But first he had to take a trip to Sally’s Hair Supplies for the necessary products, the same kind he had used before.

“I had to bleach my hair and goatee a few days earlier with peroxide,” went on Brian.
“Apart from being a little stingy and smelly it was fine once it was rinsed off.”
With the full support of his other half, Marie McLaren, 45, Brian, who lives in Westhill, completed his transformation and pink hair dye was applied in the hotel foyer for all to see.
“What was really great about the night was almost 60% of staff turned up to watch, even some who were on a day off.
“Everyone made such a big effort, dressing up for the occasion, and we had a great reaction from guests.”
So does Brian hope to be pink-free for Christmas?
“I may still have the odd pink straggle here and there,” he confided.
“The plan is to just let it grow out in its own time and I will definitely take a break next year.
“After all, peroxide’s murder on your hair!”
