Shkendija facing 10,000 Euro fine after Dons keeper targeted by lasers

Opposing fans shone a laser pen into the eyes of Dons keeper Danny Ward

ABERDEEN’S Europa League qualifying opponents KF Shkendija were today looking down the barrel of a fine of 10,000 Euros after Dons keeper Danny Ward was targeted by laser pens.

The Dons lodged an official complaint over home fans firing laser beams at the eyes of Ward when they were defending corners and free-kicks in Skopje.

The home supporters also ignited flares at the match, which is against UEFA regulations.

Two incidents of laser abuse were included in the report completed by the match delegate, Germany’s Thomas Weyhing, and previous offences of this sort involving other clubs have been punished by a fine of 10,000 Euros.
