ABERDEEN have confirmed keeper Joe Lewis did NOT suffer a broken leg as feared in the 2-0 loss to Rangers.

The 30-year-old was stretchered off in the second half at Ibrox and then rushed to hospital in Glasgow.

Play was held up for five minutes to allow treatment for the keeper who has played every minute of competitive action for the Dons since signing in summer 2016.

In the post match press conference Dons boss Derek McInnes admitted he feared Lewis had suffered a serious injury.

However Aberdeen tonight confirmed Lewis did not suffer a broken leg as feared.

An Aberdeen FC statement said: “The club can confirm that Joe Lewis was taken to hospital after tonight’s game at Ibrox and that his leg is not broken, as was initially feared.”
