Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes has hailed Mark Reynolds as “brilliant” after the defender signed a one-year contract extension.
Reynolds was out of contract next summer but the new deal will keep him at Pittodrie until the summer of 2019.
Praising the centre-back, who joined the Dons in January 2012, McInnes said: “Mark has been absolutely brilliant to work with.
“He’s a great teammate, the staff are extremely fond of him so we’re delighted to get him signed up.
“Getting good centre halves in the building isn’t always easy and we’re pleased he’s secured his future with us.
“He was so eager to get it done, he loves it at the club and that’s music to our ears.”
After joining on an initial six-month loan the 30-year-old, who has made 226 appearances for the Reds, was signed permanently by Craig Brown in the summer of 2012.
