Jack’s red card against Aberdeen upheld

Ranger's Ryan Jack as Willie Collum sent him off.

Ex-Aberdeen captain Ryan Jack has failed to have his red card for a horror tackle on Dons striker Stevie May overturned.

Rangers submitted an appeal to the Scottish FA after the sending off and three-match ban Jack received in the Light Blues 2-1 win at Pittodrie.

The midfielder was dismissed by referee Willie Collum after following through in a tackle with May and planting his studs on the hitman’s ankle.

May looks set to miss tomorrow night’s Premiership encounter with Dundee at Dens Park as a result of the incident.

After the independent panel’s ruling, Jack, who has been sent off four times this term with two successful appeals, will miss Rangers’ next two matches with Ross County and Hibernian, before serving an extra game ban for the Kilmarnock fixture on December 23.
