Ex-Aberdeen midfielder Willo Flood’s surprise move to Bali United has fallen apart after he left Dunfermline for the Indonesian side.
Flood, 33, has been declared ineligible for a work permit three days after signing, because the Scottish Championship, where he played last term with Dundee United, is not considered a strong enough league under new Indonesian football rules.

Bali coach Widodo Cahyono Putro said: “Willo Flood’s contract has been cancelled because of the regulations restricting foreign players in Liga 1.
“Because he played in a league in Scotland that wasn’t their top league, we have been informed he does not meet the criteria.
“The management of Bali United is currently asking for clarification on this, but it’s obviously a massive disappointment for us and the player.”
Irishman Flood, who has also played for Celtic during his career, had joined Dunfermline for nine days, but because of a clause in his contract allowing him to play abroad if the opportunity arose, terminated his deal at East End Park to head for Bali.
The Indonesian Liga 1 side had released a video on social media to reveal their new signing.
