Exeter City are today close to signing Jayden Stockley on a permanent deal.
The striker still has a year left on his Aberdeen contract.
The 23-year-old has not featured domestically this season but started the 2-0 Europa League loss to Apollon Limassol in Cyprus last month.
Speaking earlier this week, McInnes said:”We’re in talks with a club about Jayden and there might be a bit more to say on that at the beginning of next week.
“There might be something happening with that.”
Stockley had six months on loan at Exeter in 2016, scoring 10 goals, before signing for the Dons.
Stockley was an unused substitute in the 4-3 win at Partick Thistle, where Aberdeen had to fight for the win.
