Aberdeen look set to lose their battle to get a work permit for Chidi Nwakali in time for this week’s mid-week clash with Rangers.

The club had hoped the midfielder would be available for tomorrow’s Premiership trip to Ibrox.

The Manchester City player has agreed a loan deal until the end of the season, but the Reds are still awaiting a work permit to be processed for the Nigerian.
