Aberdeen skipper Graeme Shinnie is targeting playing in the last game of the season – despite being ruled out for four to six weeks.
The midfielder has sustained ankle ligament damage in the 1-0 defeat of Kilmarnock at the weekend.
Boss Derek McInnes confirmed he could be out for up to six weeks.
However Shinnie is adamant he will return for the season closer at Easter Road in three weeks time.
Whether that is Shinnie’s curtain call for the Dons remains to be seen.
The 27-year-old is wanted by Derby County and recently went to the Championship club for talks.
McInnes said: “Graeme has ligament damage.
“There is no damage to the bone but ligament can sometimes be just as difficult to overcome.
“The feeling is it can be four to six weeks which naturally puts a real focus that he will not be back for the rest of the season.
“Shinnie is adamant that he will be back for the Hibs game on the last day of the season and there has been improvement in the last few days.”
