Aberdeen have announced goalkeeper Danny Rogers has joined Premiership new boys St Mirren on loan for the coming season to gain “experience”.
A Dons statement said the Irish 24-year-old is regarded as a “future number one”. He signed a new contract at the end of last term and after joining the club at the age of 17 has had previous loan spells with Dumbarton and Falkirk.
He was back-up to Joe Lewis last season, but when the Englishman was injured at Ibrox in January, Rogers went on to start in league wins against Kilmarnock and Ross County.
Dons boss Derek McInnes said “The move to St Mirren will offer Danny a real opportunity to gain Premiership experience, something which will be invaluable for his development.”
