Aberdeen are hopeful Gary Mackay-Steven can be involved against Celtic on Saturday after limping off 15 minutes into Sunday’s Scottish Cup tie with Rangers.
The winger was caught heavily on his calf by Gers defender Connor Goldson in the ninth minute, which resulted in a Dons penalty which Sam Cosgrove scored.
Mackay-Steven received treatment and tried to carry on for a few minutes but was unable to.
After the game the Scotland international was sent for an X-ray. The results have come back and it is believed the 28-year-old hasn’t suffered more significant damage other than bruising, meaning he could be involved at Parkhead on Saturday.
