Aberdeen FC winger Jonny Hayes was today named on the four-man shortlist for the PFA Scotland Premiership Player of the Year award.
Hayes is up for the prestigious award alongside Celtic trio Stuart Armstrong, Moussa Dembele and Scott Sinclair.
It is the second successive season Hayes has been shortlisted for the PFA award having been nominated last year.
Players at every club across the country had their say in the voting for the award.
Celtic’s Leigh Griffiths secured the honour in 2016.
The 2017 winner will be announced on Sunday, May 7 at PFA Scotland’s annual Awards Dinner at the Hilton Hotel, Glasgow.
In January Aberdeen rejected three offers from Cardiff City to retain Republic of Ireland international Hayes at Pittodrie.
The final bid from the Championship club was for £600,000 but the Reds held firm to retain the winger.
That hard-line stance has been rewarded with Hayes’ impressive form.
Celtic also have three nominations in the PFA Scotland Young Player of the Year.
Scotland international Kieran Tierney, Moussa Dembele and Patrick Roberts are all named alongside Hibs striker Jason Cummings.
