Aberdeen and Hearts have been charged by the SFA after a confrontation during Saturday’s match at Tynecastle.
A flare up occurred following a challenge from Dom Ball on Sean Clare during the 2-1 win for the Jambos.
After the incident referee John Beaton booked Ball and Lewis Ferguson for the Reds and John Souttar and Arnaud Djoum for the home side, but now the SFA have decided to take action against the clubs for the exchange.
Both Aberdeen and Hearts are alleged to have broken Rule 204: “Where three or more players and/or members of Team Staff from one team are involved in a confrontation with opposing players and/or members of Team Staff of the opposing team during and/or directly after a match.”
The clubs have until Wednesday, April 10 to respond to the charge with a principal date for the hearing set for Thursday, April 25.
