ABERDEEN will appeal the red card shown to defender Mikey Devlin in the 2-0 loss to Kilmarnock at Pittodrie.

Referee Craig Thomson dismissed the centre-back for a foul on Kilmarnock striker Eamonn Brophy after just five minutes.

Thomson deemed the foul had denied a clear goal scoring opportunity with Devlin the last man.

However the foul was 40 yards from goal and on the right flank.

It also appeared that right-back Shaleum Logan could have tracked back to make a challenge.

Brophy also appeared to tug at Devlin’s shirt before the foul the Reds’ defender was dismissed for.

As it stands Devlin will be suspended for the next Premiership game against St Johnstone after the international break but the Dons hope that can be over-turned.
