Aberdeen completed the paper-work for the U20 World Cup winner after their 4-2 Premiership win over Ross County at Dingwall.
Woodward was drafted in before the January transfer window shut at midnight because Joe Lewis today underwent knee cartilage surgery that will rule him out for up to three months.
Woodward spent the second half of last season on loan at Kilmarnock.
He will travel up to the Granite City on Thursday.
Danny Rogers was in goal for the win over Ross County.
Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes tonight said: “He’s a fantastic young talent.
“I’m really looking forward to working with him.
“I was really impressed with him last season.
“I thought he got better and better at Kilmarnock. There were lots of clubs in for Freddie but his commitment and word to us meant a lot and we’re looking forward to getting him with us.”
