A WOMAN was taken to hospital after she was hit by a car in Aberdeen city centre.

The woman, who is believed to be in her fifties, suffered a broken leg after she was hit by a blue Peugeot on Whinhill Road in Aberdeen.

A spokesman for Police Scotland said that her injuries were not believed to be life threatening.

He added: “She was hit at around 4.25pm and the road remained closed until 6.06pm yesterday.”

Police Scotland could not say whether anyone had yet been charged in connection with the incident. Inquiries are ongoing.

There is a faction of Aberdeen drivers that are dangerously belligerent and can only be controlled by police intervention. Sadly that intervention does not ever occur and the result is casualties.

I agree that most driver attitudes in Aberdeen is appalling, wether it be to pedestrians or basic road laws, however it is also the case that pedestrian attitudes are equally outrageous, has everyone forgotten the green cross code and do we no longer teach this in schools?
