Danger driver jailed after speeding on Aberdeen streets

A BANNED driver has admitted speeding through Aberdeen streets while on a mobile in a bid to evade police.

Peter Stewart, 27, was jailed for 14 months after admitting a string of charges.

He pleaded guilty to driving dangerously on Aberdeen streets, including South College Street, Bridge Street and Wapping Street.

Stewart drove at “excessive” speeds and failed to give way at a junction as well as ignoring a red light. He also drove while disqualified, failed to stop for police and drove while using a mobile phone.

Stewart also drove a car which had no MOT certificate and admitted breaching two bail conditions.

At Aberdeen Sheriff Court Sheriff Graeme Napier handed Stewart, whose last known address was given in court papers as Flat D 9 Alexander Terrace, Aberdeen, sentences totalling 14 months.
