Mastrick Tandoori: Greenfern Place, Mastrick, Aberdeen

AFTER sitting through a major dress and hair drama as we waited to take my daughter to her work’s dinner-dance, I felt too frazzled to cook.

So a meal from Mastrick Tandoori seemed an ideal choice.

Both absolutely famished, we opted for the set meal for two (£19.50) ... they should rename it set feast.

Two crispy popadoms, mango chutney, spiced onions and big, flavour packed mixed pakura, light and delicious pilau rice, delightfully nippy Bombay aloo, and a humungus naan bread all accompanied our two main dishes.

The special korma, with its big juicy chunks of chicken was yummy, but the real star of the meal was the West Bengali chicken. Generous pieces of chicken in a yummy sauce bursting with spicy tomatoey flavours, it’s a definite to be ordered again. To wash it all down, and included in the price, were two cans of cola.
