Curry Mount: Rosemount Place, Aberdeen

IT HAD been a stressful night after my pal’s car died miles from home with the breakdown service hours away.

When we eventually tumbled in, courtesy of a lift from the friendly mechanic, we needed the kind of pick-me-up only good food can provide.

And within 40 minutes of placing our order over the phone, we had a feast.

The special deal for two for just short of £20 provided us with mixed pakora, popadoms and dips, a nan bread, Bombay aloo, two pilau rice portions and our pick of two main courses from their large selection.

The pakora was tasty and moist and the popadoms offered the perfect foil of crispiness but the Bombay aloo was a bit disappointing – it lacked a full-bodied punch.

However, the same could not be said for my friend’s chicken Curry Mount special or my chicken tikka masala. Both were lip-smackingly delicious and her dish delivered the fine chilli kick we needed.
