Oil worker gets £10 million bill for toilet seat!
Bucksburn man receives massive charge

A MAN was left feeling a hot flush after he was sent a £10 million bill for a toilet seat.
Paul Johnston, 25, of Bucksburn was sent a bill for his new B&Q bathroom charging him £9,999,999.99 for just the toilet seat.
The oil worker was understood to be expecting to pay about £4,000 for the whole thing, but the total quote was £10,004,423.79.
A workman from the store in Aberdeen visited his home to measure up and he was told the firm would e-mail him a quote for the bathroom.
He said: “I couldn’t believe my eyes when I opened it. Just to make things more comical there was a big stamp titled ‘B&Q unbeatable price promise’ underneath.
“It was certainly slightly over the initial £3,000 to £5,000 I’d hoped to spend on the bathroom. I bet there can’t be many people who have had this kind of quote.
“I’ve shown it to a few of the guys at my work and they’ve all just cracked up.
“When you look into the itemised billing it shows they are charging me £9,999,999.99 for my toilet seat.”
A B&Q spokeswoman said: “We can see we’ve made a bit of a mistake here.
“At a time when very few of us are feeling flush we can see why this quote would be an expensive way to spend a penny.
“We’ve sent Mr Johnston a revised quote on his bathroom installation.”
Paul had spoken to a member of staff at the city’s Garthdee Road store about getting a new bathroom fitted.
The letter quoted B&Q’s pledge that the store guaranteed lower prices and would match any lower estimates.
Paul added: “People have been asking me what kind of finance package this comes with – £200 a month for 6,000 years.”
