Casa Express: George Street, Aberdeen

WALKING along George Street in the freezing snow was a nightmare – I was slipping and sliding all over the place.

Not wanting to risk the rest of the journey to my local supermarket, I went for the lazy option and dived into the nearest takeaway, Casa Express.

A quick glance at the menu was all I needed to pick a 12in chicken supreme pizza (£7.95), heaped with chicken, sweet peppers, onions and spicy jalapenos, along with a side order of garlic bread (£2), covered with a thick layer of melted cheese.

My flatmate ordered a creamy prawn cocktail with crisp fresh lettuce (£3), followed by the ever-popular super-sized doner kebab, all packed into a warm pitta bread with salad and a spicy chilli sauce, just the way he likes it, and a bargain at only £5.50.

The piping hot, spicy food from Casa Express was the perfect way to help shake off those winter blues.
