Meze House: Rose Street, Aberdeen

THE miserable weather we’ve been having recently was really starting to get me down, and I was in desperate need of a pick me up.

And that’s exactly what my flatmate and I got with a takeaway from the Meze House.

Finding the menu online was easy enough, although the prices were a bit out of date.

Ordering ourselves a hot meze for two (£7.54 per person) and a pilich kebab (£3.50) to share was a pleasure with the helpful staff explaining the Turkish dishes to us as we phoned our order in.

The fantastic meze was a delicious mix of cold and hot dishes. A smooth humus with pitta breads, cold tuna and chicken dishes packed full of flavour, went will deep-fried chicken wings and a mix of lightly fried vegetables.

Rounding it off was the chicken kebab. The chicken was tender, spicy and covered in a light yogurt served in a soft warm pitta.

It was a delicious feast to drive cold winter away.
