AN ABERDEEN man drove dangerously while he was more than double the drink-drive limit.
RONALD REID admitted crashing into a parked car, a fence and a signpost, mounting the pavement and narrowly avoiding hitting two pedestrians.
Aberdeen Sheriff Court heard the 58-year-old, whose address was given as 8 Dancing Cairns Place, was in the driving seat on June 29 this year at Upper Mastrick Way, Mastrick Junction, Cairnwell Avenue, Invercauld Road, Birkhall Parade, Dancing Cairns Place, all Aberdeen and elsewhere in the city.
Reid was fined £900, put off the road for two years and ordered to sit an extended test before he can get behind the wheel again.
The court heard teenager ROBERT MORRISONcaused £1,300 of damage in a joyriding spree. The 18-year-old admitted a string of offences including driving while unfit through drink or drugs.
Depute Fiscal John Richardson said Morrison took his girlfriend’s mum’s car keys and drove off without permission, crashing into a garage causing £700 of damage to the car and £600 to the garage.
Morrison, of 9 Chanonry, Old Aberdeen, admitted taking a car without permission and driving carelessly without a licence or insurance. He also admitted assaulting a man who stepped in.
Sentence was deferred for background reports.
SHANE WHYTE admitted driving while twice the limit.
The 22-year-old, whose address was given as 10 Beltie View, Fraser Road, Alford, admitted driving while over the limit on Fraser Road, Alford, on October 4 this year.
Whyte was put on probation for 18 months and put off the road for three years.
If he sits the drink-drive rehabilitation course his ban will be reduce by four and a half months.
GREIG BAIN admitted driving carelessly, at excessive speed and failing to negotiate a roundabout while over the limit on December 9 last year.
Bain, 26, whose address was given as 74 Mansfield Road, Torry, drove carelessly on Anderson Drive and Queen’s Road in Aberdeen as well as on the A944 Aberdeen to Westhill road and elsewhere.
He admitted driving while over the limit, without insurance and with a provisional licence.
Bain was fined £650 and put off the road for a year.
If he sits the rehabilitation course his ban will be reduced by three months.
ADAM KWIDZINSKI drove while more than double the limit.
Kwidzinski, 44, whose address was given as 41 Croftburn Drive, Glasgow, admitted driving while over the limit on September 11 at Arnhall Business Park, Westhill.
The carpet layer was fined £400 and put off the road for 18 months.
GEORGE WHYTE admitted driving a motorcycle on the A947 Stoneywood Road almost twice the legal limit.
The 41-year-old, whose address was given as 1 Tillyfar Cottages, Turriff, admitted he rode the motorcycle when over the legal limit on September 27.
Sentence was deferred for reports.
IAN STEWART drove a car on Provost Watt Drive, Aberdeen while more than three times the legal drink-drive limit.
Stewart, 41, admitted driving without a licence or insurance and with excess alcohol on September 27.
Sheriff Annella Cowan deferred sentence on Stewart, of 66 Inchbrae Drive, Aberdeen, for reports when he appeared before her.
He is due to appear in court again for sentence at a later date.
RUSSEL EDGAR drove a car while more than twice the legal drink-drive limit in Aberdeen.
The 20-year-old drove on the city’s Parkway on September 27.
Edgar, whose address was given in court papers as 5e Manor Walk, Aberdeen, had his sentence deferred when he admitted the charge and is due to appear again at a later date.
