Breakfast host accused of attacking girl

A NORTH-EAST radio DJ has been arrested for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend, the Evening Express can reveal today.
Northsound 1’s breakfast show host Greig Easton is understood to have been held in the police cells for a time after the alleged attack.
It is also understood the 32-year-old DJ’s girlfriend has been charged with assault in connection with the alleged incident.
It is alleged Mr Easton, known as Greigsy to listeners, and his 20-year-old girlfriend, were involved in an argument on Union Street.
Police today confirmed there were reports of a disturbance at an address in Aberdeen’s Canal Place.
A Grampian Police spokesman said: “Following an incident which occurred on Aberdeen’s Union Street around 9.30pm on Sunday, we can confirm that a 32-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman have been reported to the procurator fiscal in connection with an assault. As the matter is now live Grampian Police are unable to comment further.”
A spokesman for the procurator fiscal’s office in Aberdeen said a report had been received, but the matter was being investigated and no court date had yet been set.
DJ Greig Easton is on the 6am to 10am breakfast show on Northsound 1 from Monday to Friday.
His show was not on the air on Monday due to the holiday weekend.
Mr Easton said he was unable to comment.
