SIX Britons, including a child, were injured in a deadly truck bombing in Pakistan’s capital Islamabad, the Foreign Office said.
The Islamabad Marriott hotel was left a charred shell.
Two Britons remained in hospital for observation but the others were discharged with superficial injuries.
Three of the wounded worked for the British High Commission in the capital.
Saturday’s blast killed 53 people, including the Czech ambassador, and rescue workers reported more than 250 injured.
The British Embassy in the city, one of the largest in the world and employing 150 UK workers, was functioning as normal today.
Foreign Secretary David Miliband said the “horrific attack” only reinforced Britain’s determination to help combat terrorism in Pakistan.
Prime Minister Gordon Brown said the attack underlined the need to step up anti-terror cooperation. He said: “We already work with the Pakistan government in giving help with counter-terrorism operations; we will continue to do that.”
